A guy walks in to a bar and sits next to an old man. Somethings oddly familiar about the old man. He thinks and thinks, he still cant figure it out. Even though this is surely going to bother him, he gives up. But just then, like a rear-end collision, it hits him, its Pablo Picasso. He looks around the bar in amazement to share this moment with others but non to avail. The guy spins back and exclaims “I love your work, man!” but Picasso doesn’t say a word, he just nods with gratitude. The guy tells Picasso he will pay him to draw a picture on a cocktail napkin. Picasso agrees, does his thing, clicks his pen, and hands the guy the sketch. Completely dead pan Picasso says, “One million dollars, please.”
“A million dollars?” says the guy. ” But It only took you 20 seconds, man!”
“I know,” said Picasso.”But it only took this man 50 years to learn how to draw that in 20 seconds.”

12.09.2009 – TORRANCE, Calif. – Scion announces the launch of its latest audio/visual initiative, Scion A/V Video, a vibrant collection of high-quality music videos spanning disparate genres, from doom metal to electro and nu-disco. Scion A/V Video hits computer screens Dec. 22 on iTunes and the automaker’s recently launched entertainment destination, ScionAV.com.
Scion approached DFA, Fool’s Gold, Hydra Head, IHEARTCOMIX!, Southern Lord and Vice Records to select nine musicians and emerging directors of the labels’ choice to produce original music videos for Scion A/V Video. As part of the brand’s continued support of creative expression, the automaker fully funded the productions and will distribute the videos across all Scion social media and video streaming sites, including ScionAV.com, iTunes and Vimeo, as well as a promotional DVD release.
“Scion has supported groundbreaking creative talent under the A/V banner since its launch, including concerts, tours, record releases and our Radio 17 programs,” says Jeri Yoshizu, sales and promotion manager for Scion. “Collaborating on music videos is a natural next step and we’re really excited to debut the A/V Video series…

Steven Ilous has been hard at work, preparing to direct a big budget project in Sweden after the holiday season. For now, he has returned home to L.A. where he plans to hit the ground running on his next big project, directing the Acid Girls “Lightworks” music video.
“I take the approach that if you’re going to do it, do it right. It probably stems from my feature film background, or the part-time perfectionist in me. All in know is that I’m just excited to be doing what I love and working with incredibly talented people.” said Steven in a recent interview.
This approach seems to be paying off, as his last music video “Toxic is Dead” was featured on AOL, Spinner, Myspace Music, Daily Swarm and NME.com. The French electro artist, Toxic Avenger, found his music video next to the likes of Jay-Z, Robbie Williams, Vitalic and Fever Ray.
Toyota Scion has signed on to sponsor Steven’s next directorial venture, along with Jamaica Cakes - L.A.’s up and coming elegant cake and pastry shop - for this high concept video.

Our new friends over at R.fm have featured the “Toxic is Dead” Music Video, I directed earlier this year. The Toxic Video is wedged between some amazing artists like Uffie, Air, Fever Ray, and Vitalic. This is truly an honor as they are known for being very selective.
Here is a quote from their About section on their site:
“We are collectors of carefully selected club music recordings from around the world and what we consider to be the best music videos on the planet. “

Thanks to R.fm and thanks for all the comments.
